Machupicchu Tour

ITINERARY 

  • Day 1: Cusco, Chachabamba , Wiñaywayna and Machu Picchu
    • We will pick you up very early in the morning (04:50 am) to leave the city of Cusco heading to the train station to board the service that will take us to Km104 of the railway line of the Cusco – Machu Picchu route, a place that will be the starting point of the walk.
    • At the train stop, at Km 104, we will enter the Inca Trail Network, crossing the Bridge to enter Chachabamba , a small archaeological group that belongs to the Historical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
    • Chachabamba was discovered in 1940 and is located on the banks of the Urubamba River. The style of its carved stone construction suggests that it was an important religious place, and that it may have had a second function as the entrance gate to Machu Picchu.
    • After visiting the place, we will begin the ascent, and after a 2-hour walk we will enter a beautiful valley where the Cloud Forest will begin to appear, here we will take a break to enjoy the lunch box.
    • After lunch, we will continue the tour until we reach a beautiful waterfall, and then reach Wiñaywayna , one of the most important archaeological sites after Machu Picchu.
    • In the afternoon, we will finally arrive at ‘La Puerta del Sol’ ( Intipunku ) from where we will begin our descent. This place is the classic viewpoint of the Machu Picchu citadel. Then we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes.
  • Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco
    • After breakfast, you will board the Consettur bus and immediately begin the ascent to the Citadel.
    • Once up, you will take the tour of Machu Picchu, learning the history and mysteries of this Sanctuary, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
    • With the freshness of the morning weather and the energy felt from the impressive landscapes everywhere, you will be able to take incredible photographs.
    • Finishing your visit inside the Citadel, you will be able to descend and have time to have lunch at Machu Picchu Pueblo. (Not included).
    • Finally, you will board The 360° Machu Picchu Train for your return trip.
    • Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in the historic center of Cusco.

Remember!

  • Recharge the batteries of your camera or cell phone to take the best photos and videos from the moment you are on the train.
  • The hike is at altitude so make sure you are comfortable.
  • Keep in mind that during the early mornings, afternoons and evenings, the weather is cold and during midday until early afternoon it is hot.
  • Share your experiences so that more people are encouraged to live it! Good things are shared!
  • Bring current identification documents because many archaeological sites require them at the entrance.
